Proposal Ideas
Great ways to pop the
question
One of our favorite proposals methods is the fortune
cookie proposal. After dinner the waiter brings the check and the
fortune cookies. When she opens her cookie, the message says "I love you
Julie. Will you marry me?"
What a great way to propose! ... (Assuming her name is
Julie, of course)
But how do you get that message inside of a cookie?
Here's the trick, a Wedwiz exlusive:
1) Buy some fortune cookies, you'll need several in
case you mess some of them up. Also you want at least 2 cookies to have
your special message inside because two cookies will be brought to
the table and you don't know which one she will open.
2) Print you message slips and cut them out. The
slips should usually be 1/2" X 2 1/4". Print several and have them
ready because you have to insert them quickly.
3) Dampen a paper towel. Wet it well and wring it
slightly.. so it's pretty damp but not dripping.
4) Take a single fortune cookie, unwrap it from the
cellophane. Wrap the cookie inside the paper towel. The towel
should cover the cookie top and bottom.
5) Put the wrapped cookie on a plate and put it in the
microwave. Bake on high for 25-30 seconds.
6) Remove very quickly, remove the paper towel and
open the cookie. It should be nice and flexible now. Take out the
message inside and replace it with yours and quickly close the cookie
back up. It should easily go back to its form. You only have about 10-15
seconds to do this before the cookies starts to cool and becomes brittle
again. If you try to close it while it's brittle, it'll crack rather
than bend (this is why you need several cookies, you'll probably mess a
few up).
7) After you close the cookie, blow on it to cool it.
Once it's cool, the cookie is hard and your proposal is inside!!
...After she says yes, it's only fitting that you
would want to give out personalized fortune cookies to your wedding
guests. You can get those here:
