Wedding Shoes
Comfort is king

It's important that the shoes look good and match the gown, but it's not THE most important consideration. Comfort is the most important aspect of your wedding-day shoes.

We highly recommend that you wear your shoes for several hours a month or two before the wedding. If they feel like they're going to give you blisters or excessively sore feet, change them. Your wedding day is to be a fun and wonderous day for you, not a day of torture and pain.

For this reason, we highly do NOT recommend that you buy wedding shoes online... including E-bay. Wedding shoes must be tried on. There is no substitute for this.

You can browse selections online and then write down the manufacturer or the source, then go to the store and try the shoes on. This can save time in the stores because you already know (and have printed out pictures of) the shoes you want to try on.

If your city has a Chinatown, it might be a good idea to go shop those shops. Often you can find great deals there on shoes, accessories, even bridal gowns.

David's Bridal has a section of wedding shoes on their site (listed under "accessories" on their homepage). You can browse their styles there and then go to the store and try them on.

You can also browse wedding shoe designer sites and department store sites for ideas.

Most designer's sites have listings of stores that carry their line. So you can find a store near you and go check it out. CALL AHEAD to make sure the style you like is in stock.

Also, remember to buy a primary pair of shoes, and also buy (or bring to the wedding a pair you already have) of backup shoes in case a heal breaks or the shoes become too uncomfortable.
